Love Like Instant Coffee..!!

Love happens in an instant. It’s that spoon of instant coffee which turns a bland cup of milk into a mug of steaming wakefulness. Have you ever smelt freshly brewed coffee..? One moment you're neutral, lazed, un-bothered, and one sniff later, your heart's has started a dictatorial rule over you mind and the brain’s taken a holiday!

Okay so to get you on track, I had a colleague who was a bit slow. She would take ages to process her work and when she wasn't creating the bottleneck, she was pestering me for details she needed to complete the bottleneck. I disliked her greatly for it. Pretty shallow of me, I know, but I’m only human. But then one day, she won a spot award.

How? Because she had been working the past seven months away from her family, away from her two year old daughter, away from her base location, only for the sake of the project. She'd travel every weekend to meet her daughter and work late weekdays to make up the time she lost.
And as I read the brief which followed her award, I saw a newfound respect for her growing within me...

So I also had that out-of-office manager who was very formal and standoff-ish  in all her mails. I was based in one city, she in another, and we only communicated via these very, very proper, official, jargon-y mails. Until she called me one day, and over the phone, she was so chummy! Maybe it was ‘fatten the goat before the slaughter' chumminess, preparing me for heavy workload to come, but it still left me dumbfounded all over again.

I mean, this was a lady who was so warm and caring and friendly, and as we talked, she placed my priorities and concerns at the head, and everything else second..! And no official guff at all, either! Suddenly the fact that she was to be my manager didn’t seem so intimidating anymore.

Which brings me to the fact that things are now changing at a rapid pace… I'm moving! I'm shifting cities this week..! Once again I’ll be the new girl in the city, and this time for real! I'll miss Hyderabad… Another of the things I started off with a weird note on and ended up in love with..!!
So many changes once again…
Just that the changes are good ones this time..!! Because as I said, love happens in an instant. And when it does, your brain goes on a hike.
